In de Verenigde Staten zijn de winnaars van de Boardgamegeek-awards bekendgemaakt. Mensen mochten stemmen in vijftien verschillende categorieën hun stem uitbrengen.
The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship sleepte drie titels in de wacht (en was twee keer runner-up). Het spel kreeg de titel ‘beste coöperatieve spel’, ‘beste medium spel’ en het beste ’thematische spel’. Bij het beste solospel en de beste artwork viel het net buiten de prijzen.
De andere twee categorieën, lichte en zware spellen, hadden Hot Streak en Galactic Cruise als winnaars.
De awards werden dit jaar voor de tiende keer uitgereikt. Per categorie werden tien titels genomineerd. Dat leverde een winnaar op en twee runners-up.
